Build Your Future in Nuclear Energy with Free Online Training

Looking for work or considering a career change? Durham Workforce Authority’s Skills Advance Ontario Career Training Program is accepting applications from across Ontario for its free Nuclear Energy pathway.

Ontario’s nuclear energy sector supports the electricity needs of homes, businesses and communities. Investments in refurbishment and new technologies are creating demand for workers in operations, maintenance and technical support. Experience in manufacturing, construction or skilled trades may provide transferable skills—and previous nuclear experience is not required to apply.

Selected participants receive training through Ontario Tech University’s Nuclear Career Accelerator. The fully online program runs for approximately 11 weeks, requiring 10–15 hours per week. Participants work through recorded lessons, readings and assignments on their own schedules, within program deadlines.

Training covers nuclear fundamentals, safety culture, industry standards, workplace communication and technical knowledge. Participants also receive individualized career coaching, resume and interview preparation, networking opportunities and job search support.

If you’re out of work, recently laid off or working fewer than 20 hours a week, this pathway could be a good fit.
